Resume of Mission:  It was believed the mining of the anchorage at Shimonoseki Straits and Kobe would flush-out the ships at the anchorage, and further discourage shipping in these areas.  Of the 277 mines dropped, only 1 was believed to be non-effective.  Three E/A sighted made no attacks.  One B-29 was non-effective.  Two B-29’s landed at Iwo Jima.  Average Mine Load:  12,738 lb.  Average Fuel Reserve:  850 gallons.
