Resume of Mission:  Main portion of city destroyed.  Damage totaled 2.28 sq. mi. or 66% of built-up portion of city.  Eighteen E/A sighted made 4 attacks.  Light, medium and heavy flak, meager to moderate, generally inaccurate.  Several S/L observed.  Both B-29’s were lost to unknown reasons.  Eleven A/C were non-effective.  Two B-29’s landed at Iwo Jima.  Average Bomb Load:  15,078 lbs.  Average Fuel Reserve:  954 gallons.
